In March 1803, The Evening Post reprinted a report from London highlighting the growing success of smallpox vaccine inoculation at the Smallpox and Inoculation Hospital in Pancras. The committee praised the practice for its “increased public benefit, as well as extended utility,” noting thousands of patients had already been successfully vaccinated without relapse.
